IS THIS THE RIGHT TREATMENT?
What Is Aromatherapy Massage?
Aromatherapy Massage combines oil-based massage with aromatic plant and essential-oil blends.
At Asiatic, it is usually slower and more flowing than Deep Tissue Massage. Your therapist uses smooth, connected movements and adjusts the pressure around: how you want the treatment to feel · areas needing more attention · scent preference · comfort The result is a sensory massage that focuses on touch, aroma and rhythm instead of strong pressure or intense bodywork. Many clients choose this massage to unwind, feel cared for and take a break from London’s busy pace.
AROMA THAI MASSAGE
Thai experience.
A softer rhythm.
You may see treatments described online as Aroma Thai Massage, Thai Aromatherapy Massage or Thai Oil Massage.
These terms can vary between practitioners. At Asiatic, our Aromatherapy Massage draws on experience in Thai and oil-based bodywork but uses a slower, more relaxing, sensory-focused approach than Traditional Thai Massage.
Instead of the stronger emphasis on rhythmic compression, assisted movement and stretching in Traditional Thai Massage, Aromatherapy uses

COMMON QUESTIONS
Find clear answers before you choose your blend.
What is Aromatherapy Massage?
Aromatherapy Massage is a gentle oil-based massage that combines flowing techniques with carefully selected aromatic oils. At Asiatic, the treatment is adapted to your comfort, scent preference and reason for visiting.
Is Aromatherapy Massage good for relaxation?
Many people choose Aromatherapy Massage for a calmer, softer experience. The gentle rhythm, oil texture, and light scents can help create a relaxing atmosphere, though everyone’s experience is different.
Is Aromatherapy Massage suitable for sensitive skin?
It depends on your skin and sensitivity. Please tell us about any allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities before booking. We use essential oils carefully and dilute them, but aromatherapy isn’t right for everyone.
What should I wear for Aromatherapy Massage?
Your therapist will explain privacy and draping before your session starts. You’ll be covered properly throughout the treatment, and only the area being massaged will be uncovered.
Can I combine Aromatherapy Massage with another treatment?
Yes. Aromatherapy Massage can be combined with Thai Foot Massage, Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage, Thai Massage or other longer massage packages, subject to therapist and room availability.
Can I choose the scent or oil?
Your therapist will talk with you about your scent preferences and sensitivities before your session. If you like a subtle aroma, have allergies, or want a simpler oil, just let us know so we can adjust the treatment.
How is Aromatherapy Massage different from Deep Tissue Massage?
Aromatherapy Massage is usually softer and more flowing. Deep Tissue Massage is firmer and more focused, and is often chosen by people who want stronger pressure on tight or tense areas.
Is Aromatherapy Massage suitable during pregnancy?
Some essential oils aren’t suitable during pregnancy. Please talk to your GP, midwife, or healthcare provider before booking, and let our reception team know before your appointment. We can suggest whether a pregnancy massage is better for you.
Where can I book Aromatherapy Massage in Angel or Islington?
You can book an Aromatherapy Massage at Asiatic Angel, 93 Upper Street, or Asiatic Highbury, 262 Upper Street. Both studios are located on Upper Street, Islington.
Is Aromatherapy Massage at Asiatic relaxing or clinical?
Asiatic is set up as a Massage Boutique & Wellness space, not a clinical treatment room. Your massage takes place in a calm, private, and professional environment, with clear communication, comfortable rooms, and a slower, more relaxing pace.
